daughters bedroom - before

This is my daughter's bedroom in our house in Sofia. The room is minuscule, almost no floor space but with great expansive height, really it's practically a chimney, or a an upright tunnel! We did not buy any furniture items specifically for this room, and accommodated it with furniture we brought from Los Angeles. I adore the lovely wrought iron bed and white canopy, whereas the remainder items are just sort of eclectic, there is a pastel pink cupboard, a dark wood chest of draws, a light wood little chest of draws and some children's chairs and table. There is some charm to the look, but it does not form a visual cohesiveness, nor is it practical for the little floor space, there is no sufficient storage, and the walls are just not utilized.

Thus we set about creating an entirely new bedroom.
